Blogging
Our blog is visible to everyone but only family members can post to it.
To view our blog:
Click the "Blog" button on our site. (The blog will open in a new window).
To post to our blog (family members only):
1) Click "Blog" on our site. (The blog will open in a new window).
2) Sign on to Blogger via your Google account. (Your username is your email address. Your password is the one you created when you established your Google account.)
3) You are now on your "Dashboard".
4) Below the text "Family Blog", click the link "New Post"
5) Compose your post and click the orange "PUBLISH POST" button (If you need help here's more information about composing your post in the "post editor".)

Commenting on Blogs
First, sign on to Blogger as if you are going to *post* to the blog (In other words, click "Blog" on our site (a new window will open), and sign on to Blogger with your Google account). After that, on your Dashboard click "View Blog" to the right of the text "Family Blog". Now, click the comment link underneath the desired post. |
Calendar
This calendar will be password protected, so only family members can see it and add events to it.
Some notes about the calendar:
1) The calendar has the same username and password as the directory
2) To move around in the calendar, scroll down to the bottom and you'll see the "Month", "Week", & "Year" popup list selections. For normal use, you'll probably just want to use the one on the far left, "Month". Click on the "v", choose the desired month, & click "Go".
3) The only links you'll probably need to use at the bottom are "My Calendar" & "Add New Entry".
4) Please do not make any changes in the "Admin" section.
To add an event to the calendar:
1) Click "Add New Entry".
2) Enter a Brief Description (& a Full Description, if desired)
3) Choose the appropriate date
4) If you have a specific time for the event, click the "v" & choose "Timed event".
5) Fill in the time
6) These are probably all the entries you'll ever need to make.
7) Click "Save" (NOTE: If you don't click "Save", your entry will not be posted to the calendar.)
8) To return to the calendar, you can click "My Calendar" at any time.

Submit photos, recipes, writings, reviews, directory updates, etc. to the site.

Set the family website as your home page
Internet Explorer (7):
1) Open Internet Explorer (IE)
2) Go to our site at www.harbermaravillafamily.com
3) On the top right side of the IE window, click "Tools"
4) A menu will pop-up. Choose "Internet Options" from the bottom of the menu.
5) In the "Internet Options" window that pops up, make sure the "General" tab is selected
6) The very first item under the "General" tab is "Home page"
7) In the "Home page" section, click the 1st button: "Use current"
8) Click "OK" all the way at the bottom of the "Internet Options" pop-up window.
9) That's it! Now, each time you open Internet Explorer, you will see the family site first.
Mozilla Firefox (2.0.0.6):
1) Open Firefox
2) Go to our site at www.harbermaravillafamily.com
3) From the menus at the top left of the Firefox window, click "Tools"
4) A menu will pop-up. Choose "Options..." from the bottom of the menu.
5) In the "Options" window that pops up, make sure the "Main" icon is highlighted
6) The very first item in the "Main" section is "Startup"
7) On the 1st line, where it says "When Firefox starts", choose "Show my home page" from the list.
8) Now click the 1st button: "Use Current Page".
9)
Click "OK" all the way at the bottom of the "Options" pop-up window.
10) That's it! Now, each time you open Firefox, you will see the family site first.
